Helmets are required in our league and must be worn during games. Although this is a non contact sport, bumps and run ins can still happen. It is of our utmost importance that our players are protected from injury, which is why we take the extra precaution with the head.
Below are the standard requirements for soft helmets and their star rating. NFL FLAG VC requires a 4 star or higher to be used. - Must have no metal components.
- Must have no hard-plastic component parts.
- Must have no sharp or hard edges and/or anything that could cause harm to another player.
- Must have a fully functional retention system or chin strap.
- Must have at least 75% head coverage
- Must have Product Liability Insurance worth at least $2,000,000
These requirements are based on the Texas State 7on7 Organizations rules that will be applied in 2020 wear headgear is mandated for the entire organization.
